Judging the Judges

In todays system, we hardly have any mechanism to judge the judges of Higher Judiciary. Many Judges think and behave like "Lords" not realising the concept of democracy in its true sense wherein "People" of the "Sovereign" have the ultimate authority and all other organs of the State are required to help in achieving the objects enshrined in the Constitution.
Instances are there, where the Judges,their wives and familymembers behave like extra-Constitutional Authorities and treat their staff like bonded labour. It is high time that they should realise that they are also only a part of the system and not the system itself, as they behave at present.

Appointment to Higher Judiciary?

Justice Sen controversy has raised a serious question about procedural defects in Judicial Appointments which are still held in a completely non-transparent manner. How, in spite of his alleged misconduct, Justice Sen could be able to get elevated to the position of a High Court Judge raises serious doubts about the system of Judicial appointments in which the eligibility criteria is not the merit of an individual but his contacts with the people who are responsible for such appointments.
File pertaining to the appointment of Justice Sen needs to be seriously scrutinised and the people responsible for his elevation should also be held accountable to bring disrepute to the whole Judicial system.
